iGenoMed-MTT: A Prospective Multi-omic Clinical Study of Response to Molecularly-Targeted Therapies in IBD

Project Summary: At the core of the iGenoMed-MTT Project is a multi-center prospective clinical study of response to advanced therapies in IBD. Biological samples are taken just prior to initiation of a Molecularly Targeted Therapy or MTT as well as at the first follow-up visit when an individual’s response is assessed. In this study, patients are followed for a year. Should a patient fail to respond to a therapy and is prescribed a new MTT by their physician, they are invited to rejoin the study. In this way, we hope to be able to follow patients in their journey to find the most effective therapy. Our Team applies state-of-the-art genetic, proteomic, metabolomic, transcriptomic, immune status & response, and microbiome analyses to obtain a comprehensive analysis of a patients biological status to better understand why some patients respond to their medication whereas others do not. The objective is to develop personalized medicine tools to match patients to the most effective therapy, and to identify novel targets for the development of effective therapies.
